To put it simply, we are two friends who after cooking for many years, feel that more people and particularly, students, around the world should get in the kitchen and get creative.

 

Who we are

Hello everyone! My name is Dimitris Giannoulis and am an airport professional. Besides this full-time job, my friend, with whom I’ve been friends for over 20 years, and current student Alex Galathianakis have been cooking almost all our lives and we feel that more students should be cooking for themselves and others.

While I am based in the UK, we are both of Greek origin, which is what inspires most of the dishes you will see on our blog. Through the recipes on this site (which can be found also on our Instagram & TikTok pages - do give us a follow), we want to show you all that cooking can help accommodate your professional and/or student life instead of being a bore.

All our recipes are not only delicious but will not cost you too many kilos nor will they empty your wallet. Every recipe costs an no more than £10 to make and can often last a few days. Dimitris Giannoulis -24y

I am Greek & a recent graduate of Communications and Public Relations. My love of cooking began with my grandmother who would teach me (and feed me) the basics of traditional and cheap Greek cooking. From that, my love for cooking grew with my mother and father who put me in the kitchen from the age of nine and to this day, my passion for cooking is still strong.

Apart from cooking, my interests are drawing, traveling and playing the guitar, which I’ve been doing for the past six years.

 

Alex Galathianakis -22y

I am a third-year student studying Environmental Engineering at the Greek University of Chania, Crete, where I am currently based. I like learning about different cultures through their food, smells & tastes.

My primary experience and passion about food and amazing aromas comes from my childhood where I would watch my mother preparing Greek delicacies. The flavours from these dishes have stayed with me and have contributed to my love of food. Apart from food, my other interests include history, airplanes, technology while I am also fond of drones and rowing.
