Spaghetti Bolognaise

Ingredients:

500g Minced Beef

2 Onions

1 Canned Tomato

1-2 cups Dry Red Wine

4-5 tbsp Worcestershire Sauce

300g Linguini ( or Spaghetti)

1 tbsp Ginger

1-2 tbsp Thyme

1-2 tbsp Sweet Paprika

1-2 tbsp Soumak

Method:

1). Let’s start with what now must seem like a ritual with most of my recipes.. finely chop the onions. Then, add to a large and high/tall pan with a generous amount olive oil. Make sure the heat is on high the onions start to get golden brown.

2). From now on, it is a simple process of adding things to the pan. Start with the beef, add it in chunks and break apart with a wooden spoon or spatula and cook until all the beef has been coated (turned to a grey-brown colour).

3). Then simply add the Worcestershire sauce, cook for 5 more minutes, followed by the red wine and another 5-6 minutes of cooking. Then add the tomato tin and the spices and leave to cook gently for about 20-25 minutes.

4). While stirring the beef from time to time, also boil the pasta with about ten minutes to go until the beef is ready. Then serve it up with a touch of cheese, which I think makes all the difference!
