Soy-Marinated Pork Salad
Start by preparing the lettuce. If it came in a bag, simply empty the bag, wash the lettuce and add to a bowl. If the lettuce requires chopping, then chop the lettuce in any way you wish. Don’t worry about cutting it finely. Now, on to the pork. Take your fillet and cut off any visible bits of white fat with a sharp knife.
Once you have done that, cut the fillet into smaller, more manageable chunks. Then, further cut the chunks into small strips. Do not make them too small but small enough so that they cook fast (look at the photo of the marinated pork below to get an idea).
Place the pork strips in a separate bowl along with the marinade ingredients and mix well. If you have time, you can leave the marinade in the fridge for several hours or even overnight (this will make the meat so much more tender and tasty!). If not, that’s not problem; simply leave for about ten minutes and then prepare a frying pan.
Heat the pan on a medium-high heat and add some olive oil. Once the oil is hot, add the pork strips and cook for about 7-8 minutes while mixing constantly. Once the pork has the color you see in the photos, remove from the pan.
In the same pan, keep the heat on and add in the sesame seeds and toast lightly for two minutes before also removing from the pan and turning off the heat.
Prepare the vinaigrette and add to the bowl along with the lettuce, sesame seeds and pork strips. Mix well and serve!
