A quick breakdown: each recipe costs maximum £10

In order to determine the price of each dish, we look at the prices for the specific ingredients from the three UK supermarkets that students there, use the most (Morrisons, Tesco & Sainsbury’s).

We then add up the the prices for the specific amount of each ingredient and get a total. The totals from the three supermarkets are then converted into an average price for each dish across all three supermarkets.

Note: we do not count herbs/spices and basic condiments in the price (oil, butter etc.) as these are items most people will already have at home.
